The Dolby E Decoder DP572 decodes Dolby E–encoded program material foruse in broadcast and postproduction facilities prior to final DTV andHDTV transmission.
TheDolby® E Decoder DP572 was designed to ease the transition fromtwo-channel to multichannel audio for DTV broadcasters and programproducers. It decodes up to eight channels of high-quality audio, plusDolby Digital metadata, from a Dolby E signal encoded on a single AES3pair, external fiber, satellite link, digital videotape, digitalaudiotape, or from a video server.It's easily integrated into your postproduction and broadcastfacilities.
The DP572 can accept both PCM and Dolby E signals, and itcan switch automatically to provide seamless integration of multichanneland archived stereo programming.Multichannel programming typically uses a "5.1 + 2" Dolby Econfiguration, with six of the eight channels carrying a 5.1 program andthe other two an Lt/Rt (matrix surround-encoded) or stereo two-channelprogram. Alternate channel configurations are available for multilingualor other specialized applications.
The Dolby DP572 requires a standard video black reference signal. Itcan also be used in 24-frame applications when accompanied with theDolby E Tri-Level Sync Interface DP579.Multichannel Audio with Dolby EDolby E provides the ability to carry up to eight channels of audio with metadata over existing stereo infrastructures.
